How to Decide Which Chicago Fertility Center is Right For Your Needs

Fertility Center Chicago

If you are grappling with trying to find the right fertility center in Chicago, don’t despair any further. IVF1 founder, Dr. Randy Morris, has put together a checklist of what you should consider when choosing a fertility center.

Chicago Fertility Center Checklist

Before choosing a Chicago fertility center, make certain:

  • The fertility center’s founding doctor has specialized in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) over the past two decades and is a Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist
  • The fertility center’s medical director is an active member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM)
  • The fertility center reports all pregnancy success statistics to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Once you have determined that the fertility clinic has met all of the above requirements to your satisfaction, you must probe further into considerations about the clinic’s diagnostic testing, protocols for treatment, surgical facilities, laboratory etc. by asking questions – such as:

  • What hospital(s) is the fertility center affiliated with?
  • Is the doctor actively involved as members of the hospital’s staff of doctors?
  • Will the fertility center’s consulting doctor assure you that he/she will take adequate time to answer your questions – both in person as well as via phone, video consultation, or Skype– throughout your upcoming testing and treatment procedures?
  • What insurance reimbursement assistance will the fertility center provide for you?
  • Does the fertility center offer assistance in determining your insurance coverage for infertility treatment costs and help in processing your insurance claims?
  • If not, will the fertility center’s staff provide you with the documentation to pursue insurance coverage on your own?
  • What are fertility center’s pricing guidelines for fertility testing and treatments?
  • Does the fertility center have a recommended commercial financial lender specializing in financing infertility testing, medications, and treatments?
  • Does the fertility center offer you affordable IVF programs using a patient’s own eggs as well as donor eggs?
  • What does the fertility center charge for egg and embryo freezing and storage?
  • Does the founder and medical director of the fertility center perform corrective reproductive surgeries onsite or are these referred out?
  • Does the founder and medical director of the fertility center perform IVF procedures onsite or are these referred out?
