SoldierCryo™ – Fertility Preservation for Military Personnel

IVF1 and Naperville Fertility Center are well known for the fertility preservation work they do with cancer patients. However, soldiers tend to get overlooked as possible candidates for fertility preservation. Unfortunately, troops are vulnerable to pelvic injuries that damage their reproductive systems. Military records show that since 2003, more than 1,800 service members in Iraq and Afghanistan — the majority of them Army troops — have suffered such wounds. In some cases, these injuries or chemical exposure will leave a soldier unable to have children.

SoldierCryo™ and SoldierCare™

Beginning on Veteran’s Day, 2014, IVF1 and Naperville Fertility Center launched two new programs: SoldierCryo™ and SoldierCare™.

SoldierCryo™ offers free fertility preservation to military personnel who are Naperville residents that are being deployed to active duty overseas. For men, this will include sperm freezing and storage for the duration of their tour of duty. For women, this will include egg freezing and storage for the duration of their tour of duty.

SoldierCare™ will offer discounts to soldiers and veterans that do not have insurance coverage for IVF.  See our SoldierCare page for more information.
